TURKEY PATTIES
INGREDIENTS
50g Quaker oats
80g milk
500g turkey minced meat
2 onions, chopped
3 tsp olive oil
1-2 garlic cloves,
peeled and cut 1 big apple,
peeled and grated 1 handful parsley, chopped
Salt and pepper
Flour for sprinkling
FOR THE SAUCE:
3 large tomatoes, chopped
Juice from 1 lime
1 small green chili, chopped
½ tbsp sugar
Salt
½ red onion, chopped
RECIPE
- Stir all ingredients for the sauce in a bowl and set aside.
- Heat 1 teaspoon olive oil in a large non sticky pan and cook onion and garlic for 10 minutes, until onions are tender.
- Stir Quaker oats with milk and let it soak up for 10 minutes.
- Stir Quaker oats, turkey minced meat, cooked onions, parsley, grated apple and add salt and pepper.
- Sprinkle some flour on your hands and shape 4 patties.
- Heat the rest of the olive oil in a non sticky pan. Fry the patties for 6 minutes on each side in medium heat, until the turn red and crunchy and are cooked inside.
- Serve the patties on toasted burgers or chapata bread, with mayonnaise, lettuce and a generous dose of sauce.
